Big Mac

One day my friend told me “kawawa ka naman wla kang trabaho”, my friend is right an unemployed person is in a difficult situation. First you can’t buy what you want to buy for obvious reasons, second you are not independent enough to live on your own. Then you might feel more depressed if you see your friends on facebook having a vacation in boracay, drinking coffee at an expensive coffee shop or taking photograph on their newly bought sedan. I was browsing some pictures of my friend on her vacation in boracay, tagaytay, bagio and other nice places she went to, she looks so happy and contented in her life that I wished I can be in her situation. It seems like she had achieved a lot in her life that compared to mine, my life is inferior to hers.

.

One Sunday morning an invitation was sent to me, it states that my friend was getting married. I had nothing to do so I went to attend the wedding. In the wedding I saw the “travel” girl (the one I’m talking about) I said to my self “wow!!!... …she looks 10 years older than when I last saw her”. She looks so haggard and stressed which is different from the facebook pictures I saw (must be shopped or something… anyway special thanks to adobe). I compared her to a big mac… what you saw in the commercials is different from the real thing (saggy and crappy).

.

I’ve realized that those pictures might be some form of defense mechanism or something, a compensation that she needs to prove something. In my opinion this just means that she does not enjoy life (well she thinks she enjoys life) but no she does not. If you enjoy wasting your money on overpriced coffee and watching every movie on the bigscreen and not getting enough sleep plus having your age warp forward to 10 years, if that’s enjoyment for you then I pity myself for not doing all of those(sarcasm). Well we have different ways of enjoying life and we should respect that but at the end of this article I feel on a “not so” difficult situation.
